Jeanice McCord for

School Board Zone 1

A mom at the table.
Not a politician on a pedestal.

I am running for Rutherford County School Board, Zone 1 because I believe our public schools deserve strong, thoughtful leadership that puts students first.

Strong Schools Start with Strong Voices

As the mother of a student at LaVergne High School, I see firsthand the realities our students, educators, and families face every day.

I understand the importance of safe schools, well-funded classrooms, and teachers who feel supported and heard. Our educators are the backbone of our schools, and they deserve clear communication, strong leadership, and the resources they need to help every student succeed.

why choose ME?

Inclusive Schools aren't political - they're effective

and public schools are necessary and need to be fully funded.

When students feel safe and respected, they learn better. When families feel heard, trust grows. And when leadership listens, schools thrive.

I believe in our kids, our schools, and our voices. Because I know strong schools start with strong voices

  • On Book Bans

Education should open minds- not close them.

I believe in protecting intellectual freedom and ensuring students have access to diverse ideas and perspectives. Our schools should encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and respectful dialogue—skills our students will carry with them long after graduation.

  • On Safety

Public schools should be places where students feel safe, supported, and free to learn without fear—whether that fear comes from gun violence or policies that put their well-being at risk.

Every student deserves a learning environment that protects their physical safety and respects their dignity, while empowering educators to focus on teaching. Our responsibility is to ensure schools remain spaces of opportunity, inclusion, and security so that all Tennessee students can thrive.

At the end of the day, this campaign is not about politics. It's about people: our children, our educators, and our community. I'm running to listen, lead with integrity, and help protect the future of public education in Rutherford County. Together, we can ensure our schools remain places where every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. I hope to earn your vote.
